The view from Hummingbird HillHummingbird Hill Retreat is located just south of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia; just 3-6 gallons (at 15-30 MPG) from Washington, DC & Baltimore. Nature enthusiasts are welcome to visit this delightful cabin located along the Cacapon Mountain ridgeline. While the Cacapon Mountains are unique for their natural beauty, this area also has a wide assortment of wildlife. Hummingbirds are commonly sighted along with numerous other bird species such as Hawks, Oriels, Robins, Yellow Finches, Blue Jays, and Woodpeckers that vary by season.

One of our friendly passerbys.Other wildlife also includes deer, rabbits, fox, mountain lions, wild turkey,the occasional bear, eagles, etc. The largest number of deer are seen during fall, winter, and spring. Wild turkeys migrate into the thickets with their young in September and groups number into the hundreds. Breeding season is completed by mid-April with a few remaining to nest in the area.

The Hummingbird Hill Retreat deck.Thc luxury cabin on beautiful Cacapon Mountain accommodates up to 12 people (including 2 cots) and has everything needed for an enjoyable stay: 2 king size beds, 2 twin beds, 2 cots, 1 full size inflatable mattress, a love seat and couch in the Great Room (while not pull out beds, they are very comfortable for sleeping), and lots of floor space for sleeping bags; lavish décor; modern kitchen; 2 flat-screen TVs; 2 VHS & DVD players; 2 small TVs with built-in VHS; and a spacious deck with beautiful mountain views.

Hummingbird Hill Retreat is located in the award-winning Cacapon South community near Berkeley Springs, voted "Best Development of the Year" by the West Virginia Homebuilder's Association. Ideal for an extended stay with family or friends, this three-story chalet/cabin has three bedrooms and two baths, accommodating up to eight to twelve guests in comfort.

Your chalet is within a short drive or stroll of Cacapon State Park that offers a golf course as well as the local lake for swimming, fishing, and boating. A game of tennis or basketball is also close by, as is horseback riding. Scenic nature trails for hiking wind throughout the area, and in the winter months, downhill and cross-country skiing and snow tubing are nearby.

The town of Berkeley Springs, also known as The Town of Bath, offers a delightful blend of mineral spas, art, and antiques. Civil War battlefields, the C&O Canal, Paw Paw Tunnel, Berkeley Springs State Park, Cacapon State Park amd the Western Maryland Rail Trail are also nearby, giving you plenty of activities and sightseeing opportunities. Special events throughout the year include the Apple Butter Festival and the Festival of the Waters among others.
